Summary
Challenge Presented
Firemans Brew challenged us to create a social media strategy that reached out to the everyday consumer, business-to-business contacts, and local/national media outlets. The goal was the create brand buzz, generate new sales to distributors and retail accounts, and engage everyday consumers and media outlets in conversation through the Firemans Brew social media accounts.
Solution
We crafted a strategy that encompassed an outreach to all of the local industry bloggers as well as the writers of publications such as the Orange County Register and Los Angeles times. We also determined the desired demographic to recruit new followers/fans to the Firemans Brew, actively searching for new followers/fans on a daily basis, centered in the Southern California area.
End Results
The Firemans Brew Twitter account grew from 100 followers to over 2500+ in the last six months. We also more than doubled the Facebook fans, moving from 350 fans to over 1000+. Engagement also moved from an average of one interaction per day to 12 interactions (Facebook/Twitter posts/comments) per day.
One of our biggest successes includes a front page story in the Los Angeles Times business section which received 900,000 impressions within the first week (valuation of advertising equivalent equals $53,000). The LA Times article led to several other publications running the story, including WEHO Daily, Brand X Daily, Cleveland.com, The Columbus Dispatch, Missouri, Columbia Daily Tribune, Tacoma, WA, The News Tribune, and Los Angeles Daily News.
Fireman's Brew has also been featured on numerous blogs including, DrinkEatTravel.com, LAWeekly.com, DrinkHacker.com, KegWords.com, and Examiner.com.
The Firemans Brew social media accounts have also garnered TV/radio interviews on the NBC Today Show in Los Angeles and Tom Leykis radio program.
Overall, numbers are up across the board as Firemans Brew production has increase four-fold over the last year, including new accounts, production, sales, media hits, and social media interaction. Weve turned real-time social media conversations into real-world results!
