This Week @ Fifty & Five 4.13.12

Another exciting week has come to a close in the social media world. We rolled out of bed on Monday and discovered that Facebook had purchased Instagram for $1 Billion dollars. That is a lot of money. Many users were upset, but in the end, Instagram became the #1 free app in the App store after two days. The computer world lost a legend this week as the founder of Commodore, Jack Tramiel, passed away at age 83. We learned that the “second screen” is trending towards tablets moreso than laptops as tablets become more common. Perhaps our coolest find of the weekis an interactive Facebook campaign for Bronx Men Shoes that grows a beard based on Facebook “Likes”. The more “Likes”, the fuller the beard becomes.
